Our Services

The BC Council on Substance Abuse is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting education, awareness, and the benefits of a healthy drug free workplace throughout British Columbia and Alberta.  The organization is set around four pillars:

Policy – to set the framework around substance abuse issues – expected behaviour, resources available, training, and EFAP

Training – Supervisors and leaders about substance abuse issues and impacts on individuals and workplaces and how to conduct effective interventions

On-going Education and Awareness – to keep the focus on educating rank and file employees about the issues and impacts

Employee and Family Assistance Program – helping those that need assistance (can be on a range of issues from financial to marital, etc.)

Training:

Our training for both supervisors and employees enables them to be proactive through recognition of signs and symptoms of substance abuse. The training also helps to develop strategies that deal with the issue and people involved. Please contact Teresa Bennett, Executive Director, at 250-649-4000 for further details.
